My Journey Into Becoming a Scrum Master

I started my career working in the Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) industry. I learned a lot about hard work, teamwork, and staying focused, but deep down, I knew I wanted something more. I wanted to change careers and move into something new, and IT seemed like the perfect place for me. But there was just one problem: I knew nothing about IT!

At first, the idea of working in IT felt overwhelming. I didn’t have the skills or experience, and I wasn’t sure where to start. But I didn’t let that stop me. I decided to take action. I joined a Community of Practice (CoP), a group where I could learn from others who were also starting out in the world of Agile and Scrum.

I attended weekly training sessions, where I learned the basics of Scrum and Agile. It was exciting, but I knew that just learning in a classroom wasn’t enough. To really get good, I had to practice. So, I formed my own teams and started working with others to practice what we learned. We met regularly, and every time we practiced, I felt more and more confident.

I also wanted to be ready for job interviews, so I did mock interviews. This helped me get comfortable with the language and ideas of Agile. I kept practicing over and over again, repeating the steps until I felt ready to be certified.

After a lot of hard work and dedication, I became a certified Scrum Master. Now, I’m not just a Scrum Master—I’m also a Certified Scaled Agile trainer and Agile  Coach. I help people just like you, who want to make a change in their careers and learn Agile.

If I can do it, so can you. Whether you already work in IT or have no experience at all, anyone can learn Agile and become a Scrum Master. With the right training, practice, and support, you can start a successful career in this exciting field.
